To design a portable luminal light-guiding device and explore its effects in cleaning quality assessment of luminal instruments.
Methods
2
The luminal instruments collected from Xiangtan Central Hospital from October to December 2023 were tested as experimental subjects. The luminal instruments tested in October were 168 sets
which were tested by white gauze test and set up as Group A
those tested in November were 182 sets tested by white stripe test and set up as Group B
and those tested in December were 175 sets tested by homemade portable luminal light-guiding device and set up as Group C. The effects of three approaches in cleaning quality assessment of luminal instruments were compared.
Results
2
The detection rate of unqualified cleaning of luminal instruments in Group A
Group B
and Group C were 0
and the detection rate of unqualified cleaning of the inner lumen was 9.5%
21.4%
and 34.3%
respectively. The differences in the detection rate of unqualified cleaning of the inner lumen in the three groups were statistically significant (
P
<
0.05). The detection rate of unqualified cleaning of the inner lumen was higher in Group B than in Group A
and the difference was statistically significant (
P
<
0.05). The detection rate of unqualified cleaning of the inner lumen was higher in Group C than in Group A and Group B
and the differences were statistically significant (all
P
<
0.05).
Conclusion
2
The homemade portable luminal light-guiding device is more effective than the white gauze test and the white stripe test in detecting the cleaning quality of the inner wall of luminal instruments
with wide applicability and simplified operation. It is worthwhile to popularize the application in the central sterile supply department.
